Ask just about anybody in The Freedom Society where they like to spend their hard earned time and money now that they’ve created the freedom and lifestyle that they’ve always desired for themselves and they’ll likely tell you the beach. And why not? Who doesn’t love spending time in the sun, among the palm trees, with your toes buried in the sand? But something that can be a major obstacle for all of us at times is shedding those unwanted pounds in order to feel comfortable showing off that beach bod.
While exercise and fitness are great and should not be neglected, well over 80% of developing the body that you desire can be attributed to what you put into your body. You hear about it all the time, the person who makes it their New Year Resolution to go to the gym five times per week, burning 300 calories each time they go, just to reward themselves with a 600+ calorie post-workout meal afterwards, leaving them at +300 calories following the workout and the meal. Pretty counterintuitive if you ask me.
So today we want to share with you the top three things that you can cut out of your diet in order to look good and feel confident during those tropical getaways.
- Dairy - Dairy products are the top source of saturated fats in the human diet. Dairy contributes to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease. Research has also linked dairy to an increased risk in cancer including breast, ovarian, and prostate cancer.
- Sugar/Sweets - Higher sugar intake causes higher blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain, diabetes, and fatty liver disease. Studies have also linked sugar to negative affects on the digestive system.
- White Carbohydrates - White carbs include all bread, rice (including brown), cereal, potatoes, pasta, tortillas, and fried food with breading. Nearly all white carbs are processed foods, processed with chemicals like chlorine dioxide, one of the chemicals used to bleach flour, which combines with residual protein to form alloxan in these foods. Alloxan (for those who aren’t familiar) is used by researchers for lab rats to induce diabetes. So by eating white carbs, you are consuming foods that produce diabetes.
We at The Freedom Society are about creating freedom in all aspects of our lives, not just professionally. So if you’re serious about your health and want to take your fitness game to the next level, try cutting these food groups out of your diet. No, not just for the next meal or day. Try it for 30 days, a quarter of a year, or the next six months, and observe the results created by disciplining yourself to create these new habits in your diet.
When you’re healthy, you have more freedom to do the physical activities that you enjoy, more abundance to date the people you want to date, and more energy to utilize for the activities that are necessary in order for you to accomplish the goals that you have set for yourself. We want you to get the most out of your body, your mind, your time, your money, and most importantly, your life.
